Digital Humanities Summer Institute – East

Date: April 26-29, 2021
Location: St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, NS
DHSI-East, based at St Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, is the latest member of the global DH Training network. It serves the Maple League by making training more accessible to Atlantic Canadians. Our inaugural DHSI-East session will be databases, taught by Dr. Harvey Quamen (University of Alberta). The course will run from 26-29 April 2021.

Mount Allison 2021 Racial Justice Symposium

In recognition of the International Decade for People of African Descent, 2015–2024, Mount Allison University will host the first-ever Racial Justice Symposium in partnership with the Maple League of Universities.

The goal of the conference is to create spaces for dialogue, learning, and awareness around the experience of people of African descent and bring together racial justice advocates from various backgrounds to build meaningful relationships and collaborations.

October 4th is a day when we honour the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Gender Diverse People, and look for opportunities to heal from this national tragedy. Please join us virtually on this important day to honour those we have lost and demand action so that this tragedy does not take any more Indigenous women, girls, or gender diverse people.

Dr. Felten is based at Elon University as the assistant provost for Teaching and Learning, director of the Center for Engaged Learning, and a History professor.

Up for Debate Fall 2019: The Maple League equips you to navigate uncertain times

Hosted by Bishop’s University, Up for Debate weekend allows delegates from the Maple League – including students, staff, and academic leaders – to examine themes through plenary speakers, a student debate tournament, a Business School CASE Competition, and TEDxBishopsU, a multidisciplinary event featuring speakers drawn from the talented pool of students, faculty, alumni, community members, and staff from the four universities.
